A recent tweet by Billy Flynn:

Raging pulling G out over Atlantic Ocean in CF-5. Love this jet...flies like a kite and turns like a snowboard in deep powder snow.

Sounds like the -C is a turning dream machine.
Take an F-16, stir in A-7, dollop of F-117, gob of F-22, dash of F/A-18, sprinkle with AV-8B, stir well + bake. Whaddya get? F-35.

Apparently they know as much about the F-35 as they do snow boarding lol

If the accompanying photo is of the fun on March 3rd, I have a few questons.

1.Why would a Lockheed test pilot be flying ("pulling G`s") unless it is to checkout something like a new fix?

2. If they are checking something out. I notice they have sidewinders on the wing tips. Are they getting data on the wing tips or checking out a fix?

3. Does anyone know if CF-5 has been out for mods?

...oh how sad, the SBug folks were hoping it would have to be redesigned from their tailhook up...maybe 4-5 years to first flight......wah, wah, wah...

....so this means they slap on the new tips, load up for the revised cat holdback and launch of the carrier for proof ....

Earlier posts on another thread about the nose gear bouncing catapult problem have made it clear there is no need to go to sea with the nosegear fix because the land steam catapults fully replicate those on CVNs. I guess we should include EMALS. Here is a NoseGear thread: viewtopic.php?f=61&t=52822&p=362876&hilit=USNI+Nose%2A#p362876

http://www.defense-aerospace.com/articl ... ented.html

''Adverse to adverse weather

The F-35’s continued inability to fly near thunderstorms, like its inability to take off in fog that was revealed during its six-day ferry flight to Israel in December, shows it is still severely li
mited in adverse-weather operations, 16 years into its development and 11 years since its first flight ''

Endless stream of sensational revelations... Never mind Defense-Aerospace.com must be trolling !!
