F-16 mid air refueling
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TH2E2-D_64M In this video will see that the flaps are down about some degrees but not 20 full flaps down. This was choose by pilot( HOW ?)or FLCS adapt to conditions ? Setting are only 20 symmetrical down or up2 degrees in supersonic .

Flaps will go down (20 degree) once you open the air refuel door and the FLCS goes into T/O and LDG gains. Same as selecting Alternate Flaps Switch to Extend or selecting LDG Gear Down.

Thanks, but here appear to be almost up( @5degrees).These mean that the speed is @370Knots when flap go up?

Typical AR speed for the F-16 is 310 KTS. If you are very heavily loaded and the tanker is near the top of block 2, you might consider to asking him to speed up a bit, so as to have a better margin for the backside of the power curve. Alternately you can ask him to descend or you can use minimum burner, but that is not recommended according to the manual (even though it works just fine for a Blk. 15 with a -220 engine). I doubt that the KC-135 can do 370 KTS in level flight at medium altitude (FL200 and above).

Be aware that when placing the air refuel switch to open the FLCS go to landing gains BUT the trailing edge flaps stay up. They will only schedule down with the ALT Flap switch in extend OR the LDG gear handle down. In the video the Trailing edge flaps are in the neutral position.

Just my but it should be air to air refueling, not mid air... Anytime I hear "mid air" it means collision.

Ive never seen that happened. Refuel door are opened and the flaps remain retracted the entire time

Maybe the speed is higher than that when the fully deployed is done. Because time to deploy and return to 0 angle is @ 8sec.Depending by tanker the speed of the both of the aircraft will not be every time the same.
