We have just switched to a new layout and navigatio/ Hopefully most of you will see this as an improvement. :-)

We'll continue to refine it over the coming days so please bear with us.

It looks pretty good.

About the only minor change I'd make is having more than 3 items in the F-22 & F-35 news block/widget.

OK, we hear ya :-).

Although there is a separate '<a href="http://www.f-16.net/f-35.html">F-35 homepage</a>' and '<a href="http://www.f-16.net/f-22.html">F-22 homepage</a>' now we increased the block size on the F-16.net homepage again.

Looks good, when I first opened the front page I was a little taken considering this site has remained virtually unchanged since I started lurking here 7 years ago..

Any chance you'll force any new forum members to only have access to 1 sub forum, ergo limiting potential spam?

Next on our list - forum software upgrade. We'll have lots of ways to discourage spam. In the mean time, we've been able to stop most automated spam - unfortunately, these days it's very cheap to hire human (Indian) spammers:

Seems to be easier to read. Thank you.
The homepage has broken image links. i.e images not displaying.

The broken image links is not related to the new layout but we're aware of it and currently investigating it so we can fix it soon.

I like it!
I always start with the View new posts link and go from there. Once I located that in the Community tab, I'm off and running!

Thank you to all the mods and editors who keep the site running and informative.

Developing an app is quite expensive so we haven't considered it.

We try to ensure however that the site works fine in a tablet browser. Let me know if there's any issues in that respect.

My biggest beef (or smallest depending on how you think about it) is that most forum software does not scale well. In other words, it leaves large areas of screen real estate unused for now reason.

Take a look at your site at 1920 x 1080 resolution:

Image

Notice the unused areas on the left and right?

F-16.net does an average job of using the screen but leaves a lot of space unused.

You are not the worst, by far. Look at Aviation Week. Less than one third of the screen is used. Seriously?? What did I buy a 28 inch screen for??

If we would scale, which we perfectly could, the text would become hard to read as the lines would be wider than recommended by usabilty standards.

The advantage of buying such a large monitor is that you can juxtapose two browser windows for example, or that you can use the zoom function so everything becomes a bit easier to read/see.

Thank you for the feedback, we'll keep it in mind when we make more changes'

You could always make it a display option.
