My "Wings of Death" novel got published (in Polish)!

Feel free to discuss anything here - as long as it is F-16 related.

Hi,

I just wanted to share some good news with you. After several years of trying and failing, I have finally succeeded in getting my novel published. There has been some interest in it from the publishers before, but nothing ever came to fruition. This time I managed to find a company who specialises in exactly this genre and they were more than happy to take a chance on me. The book is on the bookstore shelves in Poland since last week.

The story follows a fictional mercenary F-16 squadron in a little bit more volatile and messed up version of the real world. The guys are a motley crew of outcasts and rejects, ruthless but deadly efficient fighters, trying to make some buck out of other peoples’ troubles. English translation of the title would be "Wings of Death".

F-16.net has been my most valuable source of technical information. I wanted to thank you all for your help in answering my questions every now and then and for great discussion threads I have been silently following here that helped me understand the complex military and technical issues. Without you guys, the book wouldn’t have been half as good.

I would like to send very special thanks to John Williams, That Engine Guy, Gums and Exfltsafety, your knowledge has enabled me to include detail that really brought the otherwise plain text to life. Niels Boman, and Link16SimDude, I have learned a lot from you too, thank you so much!

I’ve no idea how the book is doing so far. It will probably take weeks to even find out if it is selling, but I am confident I managed to create something of value. I’ve read worse anyway :)

Depending on its performance maybe one day we will see an English translation. As for now it is in Polish only, my beloved native language.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the ACK! Good luck!

I hope to see it in English, or at least in an electronic format I can download and have auto-translated!

After looking at the site, it is electronic! I bit the bullet and handed over my $8.38 (at today's exchange rate)

Now for some computer wizardry to translate! I'll update when I get a working method.

I was just about to say there is an e-book version. :) I have no idea how it would auto-translate, Polish grammar is very tough. Thank you for the comments, it means a lot. I have no clue how the book is doing sales-wise. I will only get an update when the publisher gets information from the bookstores and it may take a while until they do inventory count. I am getting really good reviews though, very surprising. It's a great feeling. Thank you again!
