AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan’s first and only woman war pilot Ardana Botay said on Tuesday her childhood dreams have come true."I remember me and my dad were flying to Almaty in a passenger plane when I was a child. Then I realized how important it is to have a right and quick decision-making process in a pilot's life. Pilots are guardians of the sky,” Botay told reporters. She started her aviation education at age of 16.She graduated from Kazakhstan Civil Aviation Academy and now works for Kazakhstan Air Force as a war pilot since 2010, Anodolu news agency reported.

Aviator vying to be Navy's first female CO of an aircraft carrier

A naval aviator is in the running to become the Navy’s first female commanding officer of an aircraft carrier in the service’s history.

Capt. Amy Bauernschmidt is the executive officer of the carrier Abraham Lincoln, one of 11 aircraft carriers stationed around the world. She reported to the Lincoln in September 2016 and is the first woman in naval history to hold the title of executive officer aboard a nuclear warship.

Now Bauernschmidt is looking to make history again as the Navy’s next aircraft carrier commanding officer, the first ever female to do so.

Captain Sarah Dallaire, Canada's second female Snowbird pilot shows cockpit of CT-114 Tutor to children at The Sky's No Limit: Girls Fly Too running

https://bc.ctvnews.ca/abbotsford-event-inspires-girls-to-work-in-aviation-1.3837881

Eight-year-old Maya, centre, sits in the cockpit of a Canadian Forces Snowbird with a friend while Captain Sarah Dallaire shows them the basics of flying. Maya sat in Captain Sarah Dallaire's seat while Canada's second female Snowbird pilot explained how she looks over her right shoulder to stay in formation with the other iconic planes. Growing up in Quebec City, Dallaire said there were no big events like Girls Fly Too. Instead, she attended all the air shows with her family. "I was always looking up," she said. "And now I can have that view looking down and it's the best in the world." This weekend, Dallaire is helping girls in Abbotsford see that they can fly with her if they choose.

Captain Sarah Dallaire realizes her dream and encourages those who want to become pilots to try the adventure.

María Noel Martínez, Dash 8-Q400 pilot and First Woman became Captain in LC PERU Airlines

TE PRESENTAMOS A MARIA NOEL MARTÍNEZ: PRIMERA CAPITANA LC PERÚ
http://blog.lcperu.pe/tag/maria-noel-martinez/

https://trome.pe/familia/conoce-mujer-peruana-capitan-piloto-avion-fotos-78913

Inspired by her father and great uncle also pilots, María Noel Martínez made the dream of entering aviation a reality.
Life stories . By chance a passenger looks at the cabin of the plane that, in a few minutes, will take him to Huánuco and to his surprise who is in charge of the aircraft is the captain and pilot María Noel Martínez (32), the only woman with this position in the airline LCPerú . She is Uruguayan by birth and nationalized Peruvian. Since he decided to fly over the air, he defies stereotypes and demonstrates that he can perform this task with excellence. Fasten your belts. Here, her story.
Are you the only female pilot?
In this airline I am the only captain, but there are four first officers more.
It's an unusual job, is not it?
We are still the minority, but more and more women dare to be pilots. And it is that being it is no longer work only of men, they now decide what they like and what they do not.
How did you decide to do this work?
My dad is a pilot and since I was little I liked airplanes.
Then it comes from family ...
Yes, because my great uncle also is and hopefully when you have children also opt for this work. I have two younger brothers who say they will follow the same steps.
Where did you form?
I'm from Uruguay, but I studied in Argentina. Since my dad was flying here in Peru, we decided to stay and live in Lima.
How long have you been here?
Ten years and since 2012, flight. I am already Peruvian nationalized and all my friends are from here.
What did your father tell you when you made the decision to be a pilot?
He was glad, but my great uncle did oppose, he even offered to pay me another career as long as I left the plane.
Why?
He said it was a job for men and that he could suffer a lot. I did not want that for me.
And have you suffered any kind of discrimination?
At work, no, on the contrary I think that sometimes they treat me better. The most surprised are the passengers when they learn that the person driving the plane is a woman. There is still that belief that we drive cars badly and therefore, airplanes.
What is the greatest satisfaction you have experienced?
When I promoted to captain, they made me a very nice meeting, my dad was there.
Regarding your parent, what advice has he given you?
Never depend on anyone and be very independent.
Have you offered any professional recommendation?
I do not remember one at this time, but I always call it when I have any doubts. He is a great counselor.
Has being a pilot allowed you to know many cities?
It's relative, because sometimes I do not get off the plane, sometimes I do.
What is the place you liked the most?
Ayacucho. And regarding the climate, which site is better? Huánuco I like it a lot, it's a special place.
Have you ever been in a dangerous situation while flying?
Not until now. Day to day things like weather problems and bad weather, but for that we are prepared and trained. I'm not afraid.
Do you love to fly?
Yes, I love my job. When you like something you do not feel heavy, you have fun. So you have to come to work at dawn ... Yes, it's part of the job and one gets used to it.

Original Text:
¿Y has sufrido algún tipo de discriminación?
No tengo miedo.
¿Amas volar?

“Hello team Martin-Baker, I am an ejectee of F7 aircraft Tie-Club membership number #5687.
I ejected on January 2012, due to bird hit on short finals and my engines flameout. I was unable to land out of that approach but ejected safely, even the reaction time was very less but this seat saved me.
Now 8 years have passed I am still flying as an active pilot and 100% healthy. I have 2 kids by the grace of GOD all because of the people who are putting their best to make these seats for pilots and giving them another chance to live.”

Navigating everyday India’s multiple identities is not for the faint-hearted. As we straddle the dichotomy of our culture and patriarchy, occasionally there comes a story that makes your heart soar. In 2016, the Indian Air Force (IAF) inducted the first batch of women fighter jet pilots — Avani Chaturvedi, Bhawana Kanth and Mohana Singh. It was in October 2015 that the government, spearheaded by the then Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, took the decision to open the fighter stream for women on an experimental basis. “The IAF has had women pilots for over 20 years — in the transport and helicopter stream. But it was time the IAF paved the way for women to shatter the ultimate glass ceiling and open up the fighter flying stream for them,” says Air Commodore LK Chawla, the Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Ambala. The IAF has been at the forefront of empowering women. While they were always enrolled in the medical branch, in 1992 the IAF started the induction of women to other branches initially in Ground Duties, and later to train for flying transport aircrafts and helicopters as well.
