We are happy to announce the launch of the completely updated F-16 aircraft database. You can visit the database by clicking the following link:

http://www.f-16.net/f-16_aircraft_database.html

For the past 10 months, Jon Somerville and myself have been working on this update. It has by far been the largest and longest running project at the site so far. When we started with the update, the aircraft database counted approximately 8,500 history lines. Upon its completion, we reach roughly 21,300 history lines.

With this effort we can now offer a history of every F-16. Does this mean the job is complete? No, it isn't. We have put great effort into making this update as complete as possible, but we will continue to update as new information becomes available. If you have updates concerning one or more airframes, please don't hesitate to let us know. Simply add information to the errors and omissions box at the bottom of every page. It could be as simple as letting us know the unit the aircraft belonged to at a given time.

As you can see in the aircraft database section, there are only 3 subdivisions who are available at this time, and 4 who are still not. They will be released one by one in the coming months. So there's still plenty to come.

So keep posted!!

Greets,

We should also thank Stefaan for doing such a great job in creating the template for the new serial number section. It looks good and is very user friendly for both the user and the editor.

It is now possible to add a photo for each history entry. So if you have a photo an aircraft with different unit markings please feel free to submit such photo to the Photo Library.

We can't stress enough the importance of the updates from the crew chiefs and pilots. Even a minor update is important and updates are easily added at the bottom of each aircrafts history.

Thank you and enjoy
