Tenth F-35 achieves first flight

December 31, 2010 (by Bjørnar Bolsøy) - The tenth F-35 fighter to enter flight testing had its first flight on December 30th, 2010.

The aircraft, called AF-4, flew a successful flight piloted by Lockheed Martin test pilot Bill "Gigs" Gigliotti. The flight concluded the test missions of 2010 for the JSF program. 410 flights have been logged for the year against a plan of 394.
