First European pilot to achieve 1,000 flighthours in the F-16 fighting falcon. On September 15th, 1977 - as the 19th pilot ever to fly the aircraft - Col. Svend Hjort was the first non american who flew the F-16.

Last assignment was as Base commander at Air Station Vaerloese, Denmark.
