Pilot reported engine troubles at 13:30 hours and the engine quit, with the pilot loosing control of the plane, forcing him to eject at around 2,000 feet as he was too far from a base and in rare snowing conditions. The pilot, a veteran IDFAF reserves officer with the rank of major, ejected safely near Afula, Israel. Israel grounded its entire F-16 fleet for a short period of time. The jet crashed into the side of a water reservoir near Moshav Ram-On. Army divers searched for pieces of the wreckage in the reservoir. Some parts were sent to IDFAF Technical School.

Lost power after take-off from Ramat David AB, and crashed into the Jezreāel Valley. Power was lost due to an engine fire which occurred at only 800 feet. The pilot attempted to return to base but ejected just short of the airfield. The ejection caused injuries to the pilot, but turned out to be minor.

The aircraft was on a routine training mission at 11:00 hours local time when the pilot noticed a landing gear malfunction. Shortly after touchdown, while still moving at 140 knots, the pilot noticed the port main landing gear was not supporting the plane. The landing gear collapsed and the left wing hit the runway, making the F-16 veer of the runway sharply. The crew ejected immediately, and moments later the aircraft overturned. Both crewmembers survived the ejection.

The aircraft took off from Ramat David AFB and during take off one of the tires blew up. The pilot reported this and he was ordered to dump all A/G weapons and the fuel tanks in the sea. The two pilots were on a training mission with a full load of A/G and A/A weapons at the time of the incident. The pilot burned some fuel and he was rerouted to Ramon AFB for landing, because of bad weather in the rest of Israel. After burning some fuel, they activated the EPU system and headed for landing. During landing the left landing gear broke under the pressure and the aircraft caught some fire from the landing gear. The pilots opened the canopy and ran off like hell while the rescue team put out the fire and turned off the EPU system. The aircraft was towed to the shelter and its wings and engine were removed in order to move the aircraft to extended repairs. The aircraft was repaired after a few months and it flies again these days. The aircraft was thus repaired successfuly. Another report indicates that the pilot was simiply too low on landing and caught the left gear on a sign.
