What is the best game on the market now?
Please tell why you think it is the best.
And what is the worst game for F-16's? |

worst F-16 game I have played is Novalogic F-16 MRF, you can fly Mach 2.15 at 40,000 ft at min AB with a full a-g load and pull 10 Gs.
Best game I have played is by far Falcon 4.0 Allied Force. Fairly recent graphics and vastly superior flight model and great avionics management. and if you can remmeber what key does what than simply look into t he cockpit and flip the switch. Saved my butt more than once trimming out damage effects, its also how I discovered the terrain following radar modes! Great Game. |

| Falcon 4 Allied Force with hitiles and Stopworks pits installed. Best most realitic simulator based on the F-16C. We have a "Virtual" online squadron that fly's missions with each other and other squads online. |

Best F-16 sim ever was something called F-16 Combat Pilot that came out in 1989... That sim literally changed my life, affecting my career choices...
To answer your question, that would be F4 with OpenFalcon add-on. Allied Force is good and stable, but it is not being improved, supposedly Lead Pursuit is working on a Super Hornet sim and therefore Falcon 4 gets minor touch-ups in stability, they do not introduce things like DTC, manual comms, better flight models like OpenFalcon. Since they hold the license to F4.0, they don't let community make drastical changes to the source code which would allow Open Falcon be much better that it already is compared to F4:AF.
I have three installations of Falcon 4 on my rig, including Allied Force and Red Viper and I only fly with OpenFalcon.

| I do however like the explosion graphics and sounds better on Openfalcon. Much more realistic. I also like the hud in 3d view. Looks better as well. Not as stable in multiplayer though. |

Open Falcon recently updated the flare and smoke trail effects which cost virtually no loss in FPS. I can't say much about MP stability, but one can always fly single
Sounds are not up to par in OpenFalcon either, (at least to our realistic standards) we are working on that. |

Don't know if TFR is modelled realistically. In Red Viper and Open Falcon along with TFR page you get a FLIR image, wouldn't the aircraft need a nav pod for that? Allied Force has the same MFD page but no imagery, though it follows the terrain to the spot, I thought only LANTIRN aircraft could do that. |

Bushmaster, I currently fly F4AF patched to 1.0.13 (or whatever the latest is)
Is Open Falcon a patch on top of the original MP F4 w/patch 1.0.8? Or is it a stand-alone install? |

OpenFalcon 4.5 is a stand alone, one-click installer at the moment, all one needs for OF4.5 is the original MP F4 CD. It is available through our forum and in 7-zip format. After you download separate parts to the installer, you join them using a program like winrar or 7-zip and extract it to a folder, hit "installer" ... After that, the installer takes care of everything else. Hi-res terrain (old version) is already integrated but the installer can also install the payware hi-res terrain (new ones) ...
Installation takes from 20 mins to 60 mins depending on your system, OF also utilizes SRTM data which brings the elevation of Korean theater to the accurate values.
You may also wish to download the Balkans theater (which also includes accurate elevation data)...
There are a few more add-ons but not needed to enjoy the realism of the sim. |

IIRC there is imagery during TFR in Allied Force. I have never flown Red Viper or Open Falcon. |
