For those out there who feel the need, here it is !
Magazine Fed:
http://www.anzioironworks.com/MAG-FED-20MM-RIFLE.htm
* 49” match grade fluted barrel
* Heavy duty clam-shell brake
* Detachable box magazine
* Available in 14.5mm, 20mm, and new Anzio 20-50 calibers
* Titanium firing pin
* 5000 yard maximum range
* Optional weights and configurations
* Huge amounts of fun
* Low recoil
Take-Down:
http://www.anzioironworks.com/20MM-TAKE-DOWN-RIFLE.htm
* 3000 yard range
* 1600 grain bullet
* 3300 ft per second
* Only weighs 39 pounds
* Takes 20mm Vulcan ammo (percussion primed)
Here's a discussion on the beast:
http://www.obscure-reference.com/cgi-bi ... ;read=1670
Yes, they take percussion primed ammo, but there's an electric primed upgrade for the mag fed version. The ammo they sell appears to be a reduced powder load, but if you're using the goose-neck or pintle mounts, it will fire full power 20mm ammo - just like an F-16 !
Oh yeah, these are over 60 caliber, so they're considered "destructive devices" under the National Firearms Act of 1934 and require special paperwork, a $200 transfer tax stamp, and a background check.
Price? If you have to ask... OK, it's freaking expensive. The base price for the Take-Down version is $6800 and the mag fed version is $11,900. Of course, you can add a suppressor for $3,200 to muffle the noise, but that's another NFA item with paperwork, background check, etc. The version I want is the magazine fed rifle with the hand guard, free-floated barrel, adjustable bi-pod, and suppressor which would total out at $16,200
Ammo? Well, Anzio sells it for $8.00 per round for training ammo and $15.00 per round for tracers. I have no idea how much full strength 20mm ammo would go for, but another 20mm rifle, the Lahti, takes a different ammo which goes for $30 to $45 per shot
I don't think I have to worry about being able to afford any of these (let alone the ammo), but it's nice to window shop !
I know y'all want pics so here ya go ! |

Parrot`, I have one question. WTF would anyone want a weapon like this for? Shooting Varmints?
Not having at you mate, it just boggles my mind as to what this would be used for. It must be a culture difference.
Is it a gadget "thing"? I know people like guns in some parts of the world. Would one own it just to enjoy the thrill of nailing trees in the back yard? Man, this thing is overkill, with no pun intended. Never mind a tree, you could take out a whole plantation in one afternoon. Or an entire infantry combat team. For some reason I have a mental picture of a family dressed in BDU`s blasting holes in the sky with a quad .50!
I could make a great window sticker for this thing! Never mind "Beware of the Dog". How about, "Beware of the Tank killing huge honking blunderbuss!"
Each to their own but it just amazes me why people would want something like this. I know if I hailed from another place I might feel differently. |

I'm not sure the truck can handle it.
I do love the weapon. SNYPA777 everyone should have one just for al-Qaida hunting.
I wonder if you can get HEI ammo for it..... |

| snyppa777, it is indeed a culture thing. Here in Texas, many good ol' boys would give their left one for one of "them thangs". Remember, we are not so far removed from our cowboy heritage. I see you are in the UK, so also realize we are populated to a great extent by people with Scottish roots. Enough said? Scots please do not take offense, as I am one of them. |

Unless it is being used by the military, I think someone who buys one of those is SERIOUSLY trying to compensate for something!
Reminds me of Mosquito hunting from Monty Python!

You know what, reading the replies from you guys, I am kind of warming to that huge blaster
I wouldn`t buy one but I like the idea of having a go at a few static targets, inert of course! Just for the hell of it, if you know what I mean If a few of our guys carried these in the Sandy places, insurgents would stay home ALL year around
Johnwill, when I visited Clarke Summit in NY state last year, EVERYONE had guns and talked about them, I just sat fascinated in the background, listening, I missed hunting season. I do respect the viewpoint from other cultures, but you have one wide eyed Brit here! The Scottish links are a surprise but they shouldn`t be, really, I am forgetting my History classes |

Heck yeah. I would love to go rabbit hunting with that baby (to quote dire straits singing about rabbit hunting with an antitank gun “nothing left but lumps of fur”. I would love to pull my little red flyer wagon up to the rifle range loaded up with that gun and ammunition, just to see the expression on their faces. I would love to see my liberal neighbors faces as I'm loading up my vehicle on the way to the range.

I wonder if you can get depleted uranium in case you need to make a head shot of a liberal? |

Hehe! Think the FBI would be waiting for you on your return from that trip after your lovely neighbors make the call! Now, DU ammo and some of MY neighbours....especially the take-out delivery idiot who whizzed onto my driveway one night and trashed the missus`s car last year, my neighbors son. ....don`t tempt me |

Aren't liberals heads MADE out of depleted uranium? It certainly would explain the density factor.
Sorry, couldn't help myself- I live in Moscowchusetts. |

Stoly Strafer - good guess on the liberals ! I come from the People's Republic of Kalifornia (moved to the Free World a couple of years ago ) and I know what you mean
Snypa - I don't think the FBI would be all that inquisitive. After all, they're the ones who do the background check equivalent of a colonoscopy on you before you can own the thing in the first place Besides, firearms enthusiasts who own rifles like this tend to be good friends with law enforcement types who'd know that whatever the neighbors say is a bunch of BS.
As to why I'd want one? Because it's COOL and I'd be able to do some seriously COOL long-range shooting here in Nevada !
Purplehaze - HEI ammo? No problemo if you've got the right licenses etc . Class III FFL Dealer or manufacturer should be able to get it - just be ready to shell out MEGA$$$
Glad y'all like it ! |

Close inspection of the license plate on that truck said it all to me...Only in Florida! Not sure what some jack@$$ in Florida would need one for. Then again, Miami was where Tony Montana told us to "Say 'ello to my leetle frien'!"
I guess us Floridians should go ahead and stock up though, just in case the next big Coke war starts in the Sunshine State anytime soon.
The DEA and Customs & Border Protection would be all over that rifle though, "You're gonna smuggle WHAT in that Go Fast Boat?! Smuggle THIS!" |
