| Well PIC is Pilot in Command and is a very common term for Army Aviators. When we log time you are either a PC (PIC)or PI (CoPilot) PIC is what all Army Aviators strive for, at least all the good ones. |

Hey Pete, I have some flying under my belt and a warrant application underway so I am aware of what those terms are, notice the rolling eyes, his questioning just appeared to me a little on the high-schooler level. I even thought he is a European or something... must have been the way I read it...
Not that I know what a PIC is, Rusty, loading Apaches doesn't necessarily mean Armt guys have to know what the term stands for, further it is not a term our guys use it around. "You have the controls? I have the controls" We don't need to know any further. |

Bushmaster, you may consider the questions 'high school'ish but I'm not really soliciting your opinion. Thank you for the comments but if you don't know the answers to the questions then let the ones that do know the answers, answer. Oh, and I wouldn't add the 'rolling eyes' on your Warrant packet, I'm a member on several of the boards this year. |

I was not answering you, I was just curious with your tone, that is all, not everyone in the Army is a Viper freak like me. Though I can probably answer half of the Viper questions you have myself.
On a side note, please, go ahead and threaten me about the selection board. You won't find a better candidate in my rank to sit in the cockpit. I will be coming in Jul 08. However, I would, if I feel threatened, report this conversation to the applicable authority.
So let's not get off on the wrong foot. How long you have been flying the Hawk, "Ole"Rusty, sounds like you are wearing quadruple squares on your collar. Is that right? |

Hey Rusty, it's good to have another Hawk guy on the boards, taking you for your word, you have quite a bit more experience than me flying and id like to be where your at one day. Im a fresh out of flight school RL3 WO1 and would love to glean some of your Hawk knowledge in exchange for any Viper questions you might have ( I still work vipers in my other full time job cause you know better than me that being a safe competent pilot isn't exactly part time even in the Guard) . I just did my LIMA qual and love the aircraft trying to get spooled up on the DEC/ODV/ 5 minute limits/2.5 minutes limits and all the other gloriuos stuff that will save my life one day. Seriously im always looking to get better and know I have a long way to go so any words of wisdom would be appreciated, and the Viper will always have a sweet spot in my heart so fire away. Bushmaster, whoa dude relax, no matter how pissed or offended you get its the INTERNET if he is who he says he is then your a retard because if you think selection for flight school is based soley on Quals then you obviously havent been through many selection boards. It's a whole person concept man, be a good soldier be a good follower and dont take no for an answer, dont be a kiss a$$ but dont step on any toes or piss off the wrong people if you dont have to. Good luck man let me know how the board goes is this the first time your packet is getting boarded?

Bush, I think that Pete's got the answer for both of us. I think that this isn't the forum for either of us to argue about these kinds of things and I wish you luck on your board.
Pete, congrats. You're right, the Guard's a tough place to stay current sometimes but it's a great place to be. I actually recently passed up an XP position (which would've included a Viper transition) to stay Hawks because I love 'em so much. Limas are a great bird but the limits are a convaluted pile of puppy poo (since this is a g-rated forum). I actually prefered the power-limited A's more but we're doing a lot to fix that with the new M's. I'm a Kilo guy now, so I've got different issues to deal with but I crossed the 5K mark awhile back (though only 3.5 were in Hawks) Anything that you want to know about the 60s just ask and I'll PM you for more questions on the Viper. |

I am quite relaxed, like you said, it is the internet, it is anyone's guess who the other might pose as, I am not saying he does, but I have seen it happen quite often on this particular forum, so you don't need to call me names, let's be professional. He didn't offend me, I was just a little curious about the volume of questions.

You are right, no I have not. But can we deny quals play a great role?

First time, yes. I am contemplating about waiting until redeployment, or do it here, I don't have the time and resources I want to put a packet I desire. Though, I will keep you in the loop.

I appreciate it, sorry about coming off kind of harsh, it is just an automatic reaction I have to those I suspect as posers, I can establish that you are not.

Could I ask how this is done? What are the regs, not that I can do it, I am over AF age limit and didn't finish my degree yet, I am curious. What is your rank and age? Don't need to mention any names, I thought, to be a board member for WOCS selections, you had to be a senior warrant and I am kind of puzzled, because I have not seen a warrant younger than AF age limit and say a CW4, for example.
I just don't share the love you guys have in the Hawk, don't hold it against me during the selection board, but there isn't anything out there for me but my bird. |

D models are good for carpooling or (jet-pooling) back from CCIP to drop another bird off there. Kinda like hitching a ride with a friend after you drop your car off.
