Currently the F-22A Raptor only has a receive only Link 16 JTIDS data link capability coupled with the IFDL. Does this mean that the Raptor is incapable of guiding missiles from other Raptors and or other aircraft? Also, I'm assuming it cannot update it's own AMRAAM's (or those of others) in mid flight due to not having any transmit capability. Can anyone shed some lights on this, seems rather crippling for such a fighter…

Fighter-to-missile datalink is not the same thing as fighter-to-fighter datalink (Link-16, IFDL.....). Many modern fighters (Some of USA Teen series, Mirage2000-5, Eurofighter, F-CK-1.... ) don't equip fighter-to-fighter datalink formally until recently, but they have gotten fighter-to-missile datalink for mid-flight-updating of their own BVRAAMs (AIM-120, MICA, TC-2.....) for a long time.

F-22 has a datalink for working with other F-22s.

The shortfall is mentioned above, having the kind of datalinking you would want with other platforms.
