Long story short, I've been at Nellis since '99, going to the Kun in Feb, then follow on to Beale. 9th Aircraft MX SQ. Anyone at Beale or have worked U-2, RQ-4? I'm excited since I'm from Sacramento and all the family is still there.
Just curious how many people have made the airframe transition with the 7-level merge. How's it working out for you? I worked T-37's when I first came in for 2 years so the "old technology" is something I miss. |

Several years ago the AF was talking about making the 2A373 (7 lvl) able to work on the F-16, F-15 and A-10, F-117 and I also know people working on the F-22. Looks like the U-2, RQ-4 is being added as well. Maybe they will eventually go back to the old way and the CC could be assigned to any airframe. |

| It will be nice to be close to home BUT Beale ranks up there with Cannon-Minot etc as far as a base. I went there six months ago to visit a friend and will never go back. 3/4 of base housing is being demolished, 1/8 barely liveable and 1/8 new..... Nothing off base compared to Vegas or Travis where I live. Did I mention you have to go to Travis hospital for anything major >70 miles away... |

now as a SrA 5 level you lose your shred and are able to work any airframe. they changed the 5 level CDCs to all airframes instead of the 7 level CDCs which is now just 2AX7X. my buddy i worked with in Korea, SrA 5 level had orders to spangdahlem, even with his SEI of f-16's hes now crewing A-10's. this was probably 9 months ago when this change went through. |
