Hey guys, let me tell you the only real LAW OF FLYING PHYSICS:

"If you're too drunk to fly, for God sakes don't do a formation landing."

All other situations: "It depends"

TC,

Thanks for the news about the article. Steve said he did a formation loop in the Zipper back at Eglin, he was nice enough to do an interview for us at Mac Dill in front of our CF-104D.

I just got back from Hawg Smoke this weekend, but the competition got rained out, it was a darn monsoon in Alexandria. We did fly on Sunday, I loaned Sharkbait's son my chromed spurs and "55" and he flew with the boss. He's a young Lt. IP in the USAF. They couldn't stay in burner much as it was a cool day in LA.

Hey JR. Too bad about your rainout. I still hope you guys come close to me sometime, maybe like Pensacola Beach, NAS Pensacola, or Tyndall or Eglin next year. As I've said before, the 104 is the only plane from the Century Series I've never seen fly. Formation loop in a Zipper? Hot D@mn! Do you guys do a loop in your airshow profile? What are the restrictions on that, with a T-tail? If it were up to me, I'd have to do it in burner, with a lot of smash going into the loop! Very Happy

TC,

Keep checking the schedule on our webpage, but if we do the Eglin area, I’ll let you and Gums know.

No loops in the airshow, just a .96 Mach pass with a pull into the vertical to do some “non-full” rate rolls on the way up and recover with an immelmen at the altitude limit for that show. FL 125 to 150… The a/c is rated for +7.33g and -3g so no worries about pulling till the g-suit inflates. We do not use / need suits for only 7g’s in a routine. The only airframe limits have to do with continuous full-rate rolls. So you have to limit full rate rolls to once around the clock. They limited the aileron travel for this reason, besides if you roll more than once in a row, as fast as the Zipper rolls, you’re just a straight and level target in a fight. Wink
