anyone else been reduced down to the one dock concept?? we are down to one dock for all 3 squadrons

Where are you assigned, what base?

Homestead uses (or did) one dock but that's just one squadron there.

Cool...nice area, I liked it there (when I visited) , my oldest son used to be stationed there.

Sorry to hear that budget cuts and manning issues are causing such a nightmare there in this area.

I don't see how one dock can support that.

i have never heard of having just a landing gear dock generally they just thow an exta couple of days on the phase at the bases that i have been to had to cahnge gear. i know here at aviano or atleast the one jet that has come through phase that need a gear swap the sq did it.

That's got to be a lot of work for a single dock.

What are Phase intervals up to now? Back in 89-91 at TJ with 150hr phases it worked out so we would have a jet a week throughout the year (basically 2 phases a jet per year).

During Desert Storm, we accelerated our checks to a Phase every 26 hours for our two shift crew, (we were never able to make it in a single day, so we overlapped an extra hour or two at each handoff) as we were flying 150 hours, on average every 24 days. Nobody thought we could do it, and we literally 'wrote the book' on 'Combat Phases' as when we asked, we found that no one else ever had.

phases are every 400hrs

this is no joke we have been downsize to a single dock of 6 people per shift there where 3 docks and a gear dock but now we complete all 800hrs,400hrs,1600hrs,2400hrs,tctos, mbfi and elec phases....all with the same amount of acft...

We used to have a "mini phase" is that what a 400hr is now?
