Anyone knows if only the Polish D models are the ones with CFT's, BTW Grrrrreat pic... (Still waiting to see some ATG ordnance) Keep looking mates!
They ordered 18 CFT sets (36 tanks). The original plan was to provide 6 sets for each of 3 Viper Tactical Squadrons. Now they decided to install CFTs on D models first. I am personally looking forward to see the CFTs on C model, but it looks like we need to wait for it.
Dan here is C model with CFT (Not a "Polished" one but a Blk 60 UAE viper.) http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=1 ... id=1193152
Cheers.
So we got blk 40 test airframe, Singapore's & Greece's blk 52, The IAF Soufa and UAE's blk 60 did I miss something?
I meant, I was looking forward to see "Polished" F-16C with CFT. I have already seen other C models with them. |

I agree, but C models only. I found Ds to be weird with them. |

First weapons to Polish F-16s will be delivered in November. It's a pity that we'll get only 178 AMMRAMs to 48 Vipers, and only 20 JHMCSs as far as equipment is concerned.
Good looking jets, anyway better than MiG-21 |

Damn good looking jets. It must be nice to go from a MiG-21 to a F-16.
Hi this is my first post on this forum. I want to write that pilots which fly on polish Vipers earlier flew on MiG-29 and Su-22 not on MiG-21. |

Sorry buddy, but that what you wrote is definitely not true! Howerver part the polish Viper pilots flew before on Su-22s 'Fitter', nevertheless most of them flew before on MiG-21s 'Fishbed', no pilots transferd form MiG-29s (except one who is carring out the training now). |

try working them for a day.......they suck. Imagine every panel accessed where the CFT's Lie. You have to defuel and bring a crane out every time maintenance needs to be done.
Turnaround frustrations, not to mention that the wear and tear on the dry bay fixtures. All in all, crew chiefs were boned again by these. |

Interesting viewpoint.
Well, maybe the ol' F-16XL added fuel configuration isn't looking that bad in retrospect?? |

I think the CFTs are awesome and should be modified for other purposes. The components the engineers at Edwards try to cram into the Viper for flight test is simply amazing. With the CFTs you would have all kinds of room for new stuff.
They could also be used for travel pods! |

No it's not you, they just do. Just like seat dreamer stated before, CFT's make them look a whole lot meaner. Especially when armed to the teeth. |
