Vinnie,
I still remember that throttle rig nightmare. I remember dropping that damn crows foot about 100 times. |

While at Luke in the late '80s, we needed a throttle cable and supply had 14 in stock. Everyone of 'em had been removed from their box and coiled up into a 12-inch circle to save space in the warehouse! That young civilian warehouseman that did it was so pleased with himself!
Anyone at Nellis, have LtCol Van Patten rattle my cage with an e-mail. Gawd, ain't seen him since he was a Lt. |

| Has anyone rigged a TPSA continuity switch or switches? Don't say it can't be done, it has. So think about dropping a crows foot versus the lock screw that on the continuity switch if you back it out to far and when I say far that's like 2 threads then ugh! |

Wow, I missed this topic somehow. I was in Iraq when this was first posted. Interesting thing though, I was working in the same HAS as the DOD AFETS (sp?) guys...and one was from Nellis. He had the "blackbox" computerized video of the engine flameout short of the runway that he shared with us, and pictures of the throttle cables routed wrong through the bulkheads that caused the binding. The clamps were upside down causing extra wear on the cable. Small world. |
