Here are some other articles with details associated with this news release:
The last article listed talks about an active duty squadron that will be deactivated to spread out the manning for these guard bases. Does anyone know what squadron this will be or heard any rumors?

Although I haven't heard of this, I think the activation of this squadron may just be of personnel and no equipment. Just like the 301st FS and the 307th FS who act as a reserved pool of pilots for active duty squadrons. That is just my opinion and I could be wrong.
I'm sure if a 100th FS was activated a lot of ANG guy would be upset, for example the 178th FS who was told to give up F-16s because there was no other iron available. And starting soon, F-16 block 25s will be going to AMARC.

Jon,
As I have heard it is a "name change" from the 160th FS to the 100th FS - same aircraft just a new designation of the squadron.
Greetings,
Henrik.
