| Maybe this will sound like a stupid question but heres what i've been wondering about for a while... All of the latest jets are extremely unstable by themselves and require multiple powerful computers to adjust the movements of the controls so the manoeuvring becomes presicely what the driver keeps in his mind... But what if its the avionics failure maybe if they were gunned out in a dogfight, will the pilot be able to perform the landing without the assistance of those computers or the next thing he should do after he gets a message of a failure is to eject? |

| If all electronics in the aircraft go TU then yes, you are screwed. Even the F-16 is that way since the stick isn't directly connected to any control surface. |

Has this ever actually happened ? If not, I believe that after 30 years of unstable aircraft usage and with the computers and electronics getting more reliable, we'll never see such a case |

| Take a look at Gums' post of Sept 13 in F-16 Design and Construction, "Fly-by-Wire" for more information on flight control system reliability. |

| The F-22's flight control system is extremely advanced, and something i'm not willing to go into detail about. But, rest assured that it is an extremely reliable system and is unlikely to be taken out by nothing more than a direct missile hit. Check out the F-16 topic posted above for more detail on an older fly by-wire-system. |

majidjon, F-117 was shot down in Serbia not an F-22, which was not operational back then.
If you want a list of crashed stealth aircraft, check out Google which will be as credible as your friend..... |
