Just make sure you don't suck the reservoirs dry before you get everything else out!! I let a guy run the cockpit one night and he assured me he knew what he was doing. he came back in 2 hours later and said i needed to call a refuel truck.... gotta love that!!!!

In a desperate situation to get the aircraft defueled, we would ask for permission to perform engine runs at mil power. That wouldn't take very long, had to chock and hold brakes the entire time, was very fatiguing. We could defuel a centerline in approximately 10 minutes. Has anyone done this besides myself?

Mil power runs in chocks? Sounds like a gread way to risk jumping chocks and going for a ride; we've done high power/burner runs on the trim pad to get rid of fuel in conjunction with other stuff, but we had to tie down the jet if we wanted to take it over 80%.

We never went beyond 80%, only did a couple of times when it was of the essence we needed to get the aircraft to phase or cannibalization. Yes, you could feel the aircraft wanting to jump chocks, it was painful holding the brakes.

I think wing tanks are refuled through the planes egsisting fuel sistem and just droped off later. Question

Correct, wing tanks are refuled through IFR receptacle during flight and can be refueled independently on ground or by Single point refueling. No need to drop tanks unless there is an engine emergency or specific reasons during combat. They cost $$$

80%? Man, where ya'll at must suck since by the book you're allowed up to 85% unresrtained. In the desert, we took one to the pad with wing tank and it took about 25 minutes, running in the max allowable limits in burner for maintenace runs.
