Official F-35 delivery schedule

If this pans out the F-35 will not only be the world's most advanced multi-role fighter when it enters service, it is also slated to be the world's most numerous. And the list does not yet include very likely customers such as Japan, Singapore, Israel, Korea and (perhaps) India.

I think the US is planning on 130 from CY15 through CY23. This then goes down to 127 in CY24. Finally, it goes down to 80 per year from CY25 through CY27, and an average of 73.5 per year from CY28 through 35.

It's official. It's an estimate until someone signs for the purchase.
edit- Just a WAG but I am going to say that there will be some Israel orders (early delivery meshed into the 72 less USAF dropped.) Maybe even Block I jets where they put in their own stuff ( they not being too worried about joint coalition stuff ).
I think also that the first three UK jets go right into the STOVL test program? I would assume GE/RR engines? And USMC does PW engines as part of the STOVL test?

I believe that if the F136 is still alive the USMC will be doing both. There will be A LOT of F-35s around when the UK takes their first three. Something like 30~60. I also believe that the lift fan will be the similar if not the same and only the engine itself is going to be different. All the lift fans are from RR anyway and all the gear boxes are from Hamilton-Sunstrand (I think).
The next F-35 to fly will be the STOVL F-35-BF-1. The weight attack improved F-35-AF-1 and F-35-CF-1 will both have to wait their turn. Before that though, we will probably see the F-35-AF-1 do transonic acceleration/deceleration tests this month or in October. The AF-1 will go supersonic after flights resume. Don't count on any maximum speed runs though as I believe they will take it one step at a time. However, if it comes out that it punches through the sonic barrier on DRY thrust it'll probably make some critics faint.

Hi Asia, Hi DW, yeah I figured that, but given last years PW running hot in STOVL tests etc I figure STOVL flight testing may... I stress may, .... have potential to show things that if there is even any slight weak link, it will show up in the very demanding STOVL flight testing. That to me will be the engine contest of the century where PW and GE/Rolls square off to see who can push the STOVL around better/more reliable etc. over hours of flight tests. Yes we hope they both work exactly the same. Be interesting to see though. Of course that is all a wag.

I don't think the majority realize how big the F-35 Lightning is going to be! Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if it is as successful as the F-4 Phantom II...........IMHO

I think the F-35 is gonna make the Russian companies (or company now actually) piss their pants. Remember Putin said he wanted Russia to be the leading military aircraft seller? With the F-35 coming out its all pretty much gonna be a pipe dream for them. GO AMERICA!!!
