Meanwhile I've been waiting for colors to arrive, and the GB at ARC to start, I've started this kit. I came with the Airfix 100 years of flight box, and I intend to build it OOB.

I also been working with the pilots, but I haven't decided if I'm going to use them or not. If not I have to make some belts.

Haven't been able to build anything on this for a while, but now it's progressing again Smile

I painted the teacher and student helmets in different colors.

And a pic with both pilots.

Comments are welcome!

Now I've glued the cockpit and fuselage together.

The pilots couldn't stand the pressure so they bailed out Smile

Have been doing some filling and sanding, and after mounting the wings I guess there will be more filling and sanding.

Nice work Azgaron
This kit looks a lot like the Hasagawa kits. I can't tell if the outside detail is the same but the part layout looks like it. Have you noticed that too?

Thanks!

Sorry, I don't have anything to compare with, so I can't tell.
Have done a little progress, here's a pic.

I did some puttying and sanding too, as well as assembling the drop tanks and missiles.
Are there different colors for the missiles on training a/c's?

CATM AIM 9 depending on unit and AF may be all blue, but all the ones I've loaded were gray with blue bands.
CATM 120 are gray with blue bands.
CATM AGM 65 are sometimes green, gray or older AGM 65A white.
On most CATM 65 the guidance fins were removed too.
All CATM 88's I've loaded were white.
These are US missiles so Belgian may be different.
I found one picture with multi national F-16's you can see how they had theirs on these early models.

Thanks for the very illuminating answer and very nice pics!
I don't know if it's apply-able on Belgian a/c's but I think I'll do according to your information, and in any case I can always call it artistic license Smile

You may want to contact Henrik on the f-16.net forum, he seems to have a lot of info on all the jets and the loads.

Some more progress pics!

Dry fitted pilots and cockpit. I think I'll glue them in place to avoid wear to the cockpit.
Although it might not show on the pic, the wheel bays and intake needs another coat of white.

Some more progress!

Painted the underside in Hu127.

Noticed that I missed a little and have to redo some filling. Smile

The exhaust!

Needs a little touch up too.

I masked the canopy, painted the frame black and then I did some more masking and painted grey.

I'll fix the excess black later, now I need the canopy to protect the cockpit while handling the plane.

Just remember to clip off the rear fins on the CATM-65s. Most captive rounds don't have them.

Well it's been a while since last time. I've borrowed an airbrush, and decided to practice some on this kit.

I think it turned out rather well, although it may need another layer to look good.

Cheers,
