| I don't get it. What does it mean? Has something to do with tankers? |

| Being a tanker toad myself, I personally hate this stupid slogan. All it is, is a rallying cry of those who finished at the bottom of their UPT classes. While it may be true that most current military operations could not happen without our support, it's still ok to know your place in life. And for the tanker clowns we are a support asset, not a combat asset. |

Hell, don't worry Elliboom. All of the stud Boomers that I've known say it too. Of course, Loads and Boomers have this "odd couple" sort of relationship/rivalry anyway. They usually use NKAWTG just as a term to stick in our faces. We just tell them that they're jealous, because when they get out on the ramp with the 135s and the C-17s, we know what plane they really wish they were flying!

| TC, I take it you are a loadsmasher in the C-17A. It's a great plane no doubt, but I seriously doubt that any boom secretly wishes that he was on the C-17 instead of the -135. It's a completely different job and if they wanted to be a load, then they should have been a load. If I was a load and not a boom then I would for sure try to get on the C-17. But for now I will take my 40+ year old jet and my job. The video posted was also great, I will be back at the Deed in about 8 weeks, and I almost forgot how much fun it will be. |

Heh heh! Yeah, I know especially the Gucci Boys in the KC-10s want to stick with their jet. I do have a feeling though that we may have a combined AFSC here within the near future. It's been talked about 1A0s, 2s, and 6s merging. Dunno if it's true, or just rumors/propaganda. They will, however, have the same school house here within the next couple of months, so it will be interesting to see.
Oh yeah, and I'll take Barney over the Super Bug any day! |

Good choice for this thread seeing as the Rhino is also a tanker |

| TC I also have heard the rumors of the AFSC's merging. I am not really sure what that will do other that eliminate a couple of numbers. It's not like a Boom Operator and a load have even remotely the same school or job, and neither one of us have any resemblence to a flight attendant. To me if you are going to merge AFSC's then that means that I should be able to act as a load and you should be able to act as a boom operator, which we both know will never happen. Looks to me like some O-6 in DC is bucking for a star and this is his way of getting it. |

| The USAF knows more about tanking than god. Why try and fix things that aren't broken? |

| With you word for word Elliboom! If I had to be a 1A0, that would mean about 5 more months of training on sims, and practicals up in the air, actually flying the boom. Foxtrot that! It would actually be easier to teach a Boom the Load's job than vice versa. Booms already have the fundamentals of Loading down. Alpha 2s know nothing about tanking. I agree Elp. If it ain't broken, don't fix it...but then again, the AF may break something just to fix it the way they want it to be fixed...only to rebreak it a couple of years down the road, and fix it back to the old way. Kind of like the situation that Maintenance is facing right now. |
