Hmmm... Mine would have to be.
1, The Right Stuff
2, SR-71 Blackbird - The Secret Vigil (OK so it's a doco, but I love it)
3, Apollo 13
4, Fail Safe (Not much flying, but it WAS about a SAC bomber)
5, The Tuskeegee Airmen
They aren't in any particular order really, just how I thought of them... |

There actually was some decent flying in the Iron Eagles. I think it was IE2 with the F-4s (MiG somethings) that I didn't mind watching. Any time I can see a Phantom phlying, it's phine by me. |

Flyboys
Dr. Strangelove
I don't know if it's considered a "flying" movie, but Space Cowboys is right up there, too . |

Definitely agree there
Funny - I did book reports on Flight of the Intruder and Bat 21 when I was in grade school. I thought the movies were great, but the books were even better |

Yeah the old movie v book thing. Flight of the Intruder (movie) was OK but the book was so good ( the author being an ex-A-6 guy and really went into detail about A-6 related stuff.) Although in the movie I thought Danny Glover made a good C.O.
In the book it was a USAF Spad guy that called down a strike on himself and Jake Grafton's BN lived.
(note if you like A-6s, check out "Angles of Attack" which is one guys A-6 account of Desert Storm ops) |
