Here are some pics of the Vipers that were part of the Big Sky Airshow on July 28 & 29th. Enjoy!

At the base of the D-model's tail where it says "Vigilantes", there is a date: 3-7-77. Anybody know what happened on that date to make the Montana guys put it on their jets?

3-7-77 is not a date. it is more of a description, a trademark of Montana if you will. it is discussed here more on this site.

Most don't know where it came from or who thought of it, but in the 1870's, it was something that you did not want to see. A sign of bad things to come for you and your family if you did wrong in the eyes of the Vigilantes.

I never get tired of reading that information when the topic is brought up. Thanks for sharing.
