Hey I was wondering if there was a F-35 sim for the PC. I have the JSF sim that came out a few years ago but that one is a piece of crap. I was wondering if anyone knew about a different one that has a flyable version of the 35..

I've heard of a flight sim called JetFighter 5. In this game you get to use the F-16, F-22, and the F-35. However, this game has gotten some horrible ratings, so I wouldn't recommend that you get it. But this is the only flight sim that I have heard of in which you get to use the JSF.

In screen shots of the computer game Battlefield 2, which came out on 2005.06.21, such as:

the F-35 has the nose code 21, "MARINES" on its sides, and tail code VA.

The real tail code VA is the 149th FS "Rebel Riders", 192nd FW/OG, Virginia ANG, 9th AF, ACC, USAF, based at Richmond IAP/Byrd Field, Virginia, USA. Not USMC. The 149th FS is equipped with the F-16C/D Block 30 Fighting Falcon.

There's an old game called 'JSF', made by 'Innerloop' and published by Edios, somewhat hard to find now. It's very realistic in my opinion, but somewhat buggy [tends to crash on Windows XP Evil or Very Mad

]. It lets you fly either the F-35A or the F-32A [R.I.P]. I've found only a handful of realism errors to complain about so far... That takes a lot of effort as i'm a Realism-Commissar.

Jet Fighter 5 also has the F-35 but isn't near as realistic... However it does tend to run better and isn't near-impossible to find.

The Edios JSF sim turns up alot on E-bay. I run across it when looking for JSF models and memorabilia.

Just flew the LM sim. No PC will ever come close to the real jet. Just not gonna happen on a desktop.

I dont understand how a Jet thats 10 years away from Service yet can be realistically reproduced on the PC anyways...

Eneryg Airforce & energy airforce AimStrike on the PS2 have the F-35B,X-35c,F-22 and F-16 very good Flight Sim games.Also Over G Fighter on the xbox 360 has these planes plus more. I have them all and love them,they are the closest I'll get to the real planes coz in New Zealand we don't and won't ever have anything like them Mr. Green

F-22 total air war was fantastic in portraying realistic capabilities 11 years ago, at least the unclassified ones. It could even do all the crazy manuvers with thrust vectoring, loads of fun. There was never a SIM that even came close for that plane ever since. Never tryied Eidos JSF though.

Depends on what your aiming at. IF you want G forces then your right. IF you want realistic flight modeling and combat enviroment then your wrong. There are SIM's out there made or in the making with scientific flight models, though none of popular jets such as the teen F's yet.
The main obstacle is not technical, is because of the gaming market is just bad. Every kid now wants dumb shootem'ups, SIM's have fallen off grace. Long live the yougest dumb generation of gamers. I curse them for finaly having hardware for the job nowadays but not many people wanting even to take advantage of that power avaiable.

I have the Eidos JSF PC sim. It is based on the X-32 and X-35. All handling & flight qualities are purely subjective. I don't think anyone was under the illusion it was 'realistic'.

During the beginning of the year I was watching the owner (I think his name is Austin, if my memory serves me right) of X-Plane as he and some of his team were developing combat flight software and was working on a F-35. He incorporated a F-22 as the primary fighter, but was making many different aircraft, including the F-117, B-2, F-18, MiG-29, Su-27, and a few more I cannot think of at the moment. I had an opportunity to test fly this software, but there were still many bugs to be worked out. The F-35 model was OK, but was incomplete in that it still did not have a cockpit. It was like flying an aircraft that had an entirely see-through cockpit. Anyway, I haven't followed that development since around May, so maybe you could contact X-Plane and find out what is going on with that software. On the other hand, it may have been proprietary, and they may disclaim they are even working on it. They never told me such, or made me sign anything, though. Good luck, and let us know if you find out something.

I just spoke with Austin at X-Plane and he said that he included an F-35 in X-Plane 9! and that you can purchase it at www.x-plane.com for $79. I don't know if any of you have seen X-Plane before but it is an outstanding simulation, in my opinion.

X-Plane is great because (from a slight bit of research I did a while back, nothing in-depth) unlike Micro$oft's Flight Sim series, X-Plane uses some level of CFD (Computational Flow Dynamics) to determine an aircraft's flight characteristics, while M$ uses preprogramed values for how it 'should' fly. For reference, CFD mathematics determine how a fluidic substance should react under certain circumstances, such as modeling the behavior of fire in a room or the flow of water through a bay (civil engineering type stuff).

So yes, that means if you have the version of X-Plane which allows you to design objects, you can create a wing with an engine and evaluate different airfoils. (yeah, way cool)

12-15 years ago, when I was big into PC flight sims and FS5 was the greatest thing around, I wish this had been out, or that I had known about it.
