Why do you try and hand me your "piddle" pack?

I didn't take it last time, and I'm not taking it this time. Smile

And don't leave it up there hoping I'll catch it later and just "take care of it".

So you're saying that it was a "Chick" pilot who forgot to disconnect from the boom..?? LOL I always pay up. I figure if I do then there's a really good chance we can have a beer together since I just bought them..!
Hangin out telling stories (albeit we only have to have 10% truth) is one of the best things going..!!

Not ONLY chic pilots--they were the only ones who ever paid up. Never got anything from the guys. Those kind of IFE's were common during my two year tour at Luke AFB, AZ. It's a training base, so, of course.

I know I've posted this here somewhere before but I feel it is good enough for another. My trainer from the late 70's was in Nam working C-7 Caribou's in TA. They had a Army pilot who must have been a true A$$hole who came thur all the time. Well there is a pilot relief system on the C-7 that works on a venturi system. One day he was in a foul mood and they rotated the the venturi on the outside 180 degrees. When he came back his write up was....."Pilot pissed in piss tube, piss tube pissed on pilot, pilot is pissed off."...

BTW, MaddogF16, why was it so funny that a chic pilot forgot to disconnect from the boom. Is there a story behind that?

I'm still wondering why UAV pilots still get to wear flight suits! Don't think I'll ever understand that one!

In kunsan I had the 35th squadron commander shut down for an engine redball. After he started back up he had another redball for the FCC. I talked to him and pretty much figured out that the sms took over as the bus controller. I figured that since he shut down previously he probably didnt turn off his APP so when the jet spooled back up the boot sequence got messed up and the SMS took over. I asked him to cycle all his APP switches to off and then turn them back on starting with FCC. He refused stating "I have cycled the FCC switch and I have been flying for 14yrs and have never heard of that." So I sat and waited and he expected me to come up with another solution. I just continued to wait. About 5 minutes went by and I asked him if it was working now. He replied "yeah but i've never seen that in 14 yrs flying." so i replied and said "yeah well in my 6 yrs of working these jets i've seen it quite often. Have a good flight Sir!" the point of my story is if you have been a car for 25 yrs do you go to the mechanic and say "i've been driving cars for 25 yrs." just because you are a operator doesn't make you a mechanic. and vica versa just cause you are a mechanic doesn't make you and operator.

another thing that happens is specialist trucks usually kick out the youngest airman to talk to the pilots about sqawks. 1/2 the time the kids are not use to the rhetoric pilots use when describing systems. its a catch 22 because the kids have to learn and there is no better teacher than experience. but on the other hand once that kid says a dumb a$$ comment about how something is suppose to work all is lost with the confidence the pilot has with the specialist flight.
