Is that Price Randall's painting?
Somebody from the 526th is lurking out there, I know it. |

Hi, I usually do not post here but I spend an awful lot of time reading and wandering as an old 'viper chief'. I was in the 19th at the time in question, but guys I cannot for the life of me remember who crewed 90-0778. We actually had 4 buses at that time, 90-0781(I crewed her), 90-0783, 90-0787, and 90-0778. I remember the deployment to SW in 92.
If memory serves that was the only bus to go on that deployment. We gave some incentive rides over there and didn't see it fly a lot. Seems to me that when it was time to go home the decision was made to let the 33rd keep her there for their deployment so they could also get some incentive rides in.
Anyway, the rest is history and when the 33rd did redeploy, 90-0778 was assigned to the 33rd until she transferred out, she never did come back to the 19th. Just thought I would throw my two cents in for what is worth.
To all you 'Hooters', 'Gamecocks', and 'Claws', hope life is treating you well. Those were some of the best 'crew dog' days that I enjoyed. |

Must have been 5, 'cause y'all had 90-0786 as well....John Redman was DCC, Erin McCallick, JoJo Franklin and Paul Guyer were assts.
778s crews were "Tooz" Tousignant, and the flight doc "Mamba" Young....the DCC on it has a 3-letter first name...Ray, Jon, Bob, Roy, Rob, Mel....something.
Jog anything?

Hey Scott, you are right, but those were just the buses I remember. The 19th as a whole had quite a few. I also remember a 89-2165, but that may have been in 'A' flight, these buses were all in 'B' flight. The thing is from about 91 -93 a lot of aircraft got shuffled around in the 3 squadrons, so my memory doesn't quite remember all the facts, and on top of that when the block 50's started arriving, they got shuffled some more. Could have been Jon Ablang(sp), but I don't remember him ever crewing a bus.
best......... |

The reason I know the L side crews is Tousiangt's mom took a bunch of pics of him in front of the L side of the jet right before y'all deployed, and also shot one from the R side, but just oblique enough to not be able to read the crews, but I can tell how many letters there are. That's as close as anybody has come.....its a shame the pilot can't recall the DCCs name.
If you are in contact with anybody else from that time, could you get me in touch with them?
Thanks man! |

| I haven't seen any of those guys in years, so I doubt if I could help in that direction, sorry. If I find any notes or pics, I will certainly let you know. And you are right, I only had one pilot in all those years KNOW that I was his crew chief. |

Capt Steve "Yogi" Allen was still my pilot when I got assigned to the Nickel, he later got his gold leaf and moved to a wing slot, occasionally still flying with the Nickel.
Major Robert " Wilbur " Wright was just leaving Aviano when I was assigned there, I crewed for him a few times. Then later when I was assigned to the 522nd Fireballs in Cannon he was transferred in as a Lt. Col and became our XO. An extreme pleasure to serve with, when we were tasked with Desert Fox in Dec 98 he was put on the CSAR alert birds when we scrambled our DCA jets for the two MiG-25s that were blowing thru south of Basra. When asked if he wanted to bump my 2nd Lt to try and get his 4th kill he just smiled and said " let the kid try ". |
