Thought I would start a separate thread on the bi-lateral exercise between the RAF and Indian Air Force. Taking place at RAF Waddington in England. The Ex` is called Indra Dhanush II (Exercise Rainbow II).
The participating aircraft are 6 SU-30MKI, of IAF`s 30 Sqn based at Puna.
Two Il-78 MKI refueling tankers of 78 Sqn, two IL-76 airlift.
RAF- Tornado F.3, Typhoon, Hawk, E-3D Sentry of no` 8 or 23 Sqn.
The IAF is sending a few fighter controllers over too, they will be on board the Sentry and visit RAF Scampton, ready for the IAF`s introduction to AWACS next year. IAF Wizzo`s are to visit RAF Leeming for the WSO school. Tanker crews to RAF Brize Norton. Think they are going to make this an annual event. Apparently, the SU`s will be going "noses cold" as it`s PESA is interfering with AOR and TACAN frequencies? Anyone have any info`? Seems a shame, kind of puts them at a disadvantage.
