| I've had some active duty students getting orders to the South Carolina guard and to the Vermont guard bases for their first assignments. I guess they are integrating those units to some extent. |

They're using them as training bases so that some of the experience of the ANG folks rubs off onto the green Airmen.
Some ANG people have been doing the same jobs at the same base since the F-16 entered the Guard!?!
Some crew-chiefs have even worked the same specific jet for 10+ years! Talk about knowing your aircraft!?!

| We had a guy who crewed one jet from 1973 until it went to AMARC in 1993, that's 20 years of turning wrenches on the same airframe. I actually say him cry when it left the ramp for the last time. |
