None. Your excellent depth of experience isn't "recent" enough.
LM wants a 1-tour Journeyman with 4 years marshalling/refuel dayshift that separated last month.
Sorry. Truth hurts. This is a rock-hard, iron-clad, carved in stone LM policy that will never, ever change... |

| Oldjay you seem to be a little off base here, your stone may have chipped. I was retired for 4 years, never worked on an F-16 but I had some broad avionics experience and was hired for the Block 60 progam. So, Racker2, get your resume together and send it to the email poasted for winne brinck, it will get looked at faster. I'm TDY here in Fort Worth right now and word on the street is the pay should be about $25-29 per hour, full per diem for the first 30 days to get settled, 55% of the full per diem amount after that, 2 BR apartment, small transportaion allowance, vacation and bonues are still being decided. Don't wait, we were told today that there will be around 110 openings for techs and mechs. Give it a shot. |

My stone isn't "chipped", it's firmly planted on my senile shoulders. I've had half-a-dozen of my younglings in east coast commercial line maintenance keep asking me over the past year, "Uncle Jay! Help us back to the gravytrain of the big sandbox!" Being the doddering old fool I am, we've burned up our computer/scanner/fax machine weaving these kiddies packets together for DS2, Aerotek, DynCorp... The resounding reply from Greenville & Fort Worth has been stone cold silence.
Picture of a UAE/Oman program conference room: Various dockered yuppies wondering, "why can't we get people?" around the donut tray. Oh, look, out in the parking lot, 5 guys with packed duffel bags, waving their hands...? Go away, loiterers, you are not sufficiently "networked". ( cronyism ) |

| Sounds like these 5 guys are young with recent experience. Email me their resumes and I will forward them to the "office". Please NO former instructors. |

oldjay,
If I read the above post from LM Careers correctly, and I believe I did, it says "minimum 5-level."...So my lack of "depth of experience" should not come into play here. I have been to Osan and Kunsan recently and had the pleasure of serving in Iraq working some Blk 50s while I was over there...Where have you been? Oh that's right, prolly sitting in your living room writing posts on this website. BTW, I am still AD and don't assume that I am just an instructor because I am at Sheppard. |

Curious, why the perceived industry prejudice against instructors? I notice this reply quickly denies being one, and the current UAE stuff clearly states no instructors. I realize the standing joke about being VCR tape-change specialists, but most instructors I've met, AF or A&P, usually know their stuff. (usually) Are the hiring managers afraid these guys are "stale" from being in the classroom? Brushing the rust off L&R skills should take a day, at most... |

| There is a lot of chatter going on right now about the UAE jobs, the positions need to get filled. Just this week, two Tech 4 positions opened and as emails have stated this week, there will be some instructor positions open in the near future. The jobs are there guys, those of us at Holloman keep receiveing emails asking about opur interest in going over, but most of us want to stay here in good ol' Alamogordo. Send in your resume and get on the phone, the only reason you shouldn't get one of these jobs is if you're sitting home waiting on a call instead of making one, or two, or three.....get the picture! |

Ok What s the deal, I've seen postings that Dyncorp has the contract then LM has it and all sorts of back and forth. Who really has the contract? Got a call back from LM after submitting a general resume, but he called on Friday and so I'm calling him back Monday. Anyone know how long you are contracted for and what pay I can expect and is it negotiable? I take it they called for the Weapons position, since I'm a weapons guy (pro-suping now though on Mh-53's? go figure) but have about 10yrs experience on 16's. The posting on the LM website shows a Tech III. What kind of benefits do they offer also? And what would come out of pocket over there? |
