The United States Air Force (USAF) successfully delivered four excess defense article (EDA) F-16B aircraft to the Pakistan Air Force at Mushaf Air Base in Pakistan on June 28, 2008. Five USAF pilots ferried the aircraft from Hill Air Force Base.

This transfer represents another significant milestone in the U.S. security assistance relationship with Pakistan, which resumed subsequent to September 11. Since then, the United States has delivered a variety of equipment to Pakistan, including refurbished C-130E transports, refurbished P-3C surveillance aircraft, refurbished Cobra helicopters, new Bell 412 helicopters and a number of Harpoon missiles, Harris radios, AN/TPS-77 surveillance radars, night vision goggles and AIM-9M Sidewinder missiles.

The centerpiece of the security assistance relationship is, however, the F-16 program. For Pakistan, the F-16 is a symbol of national pride and although the program began in the 1980s, F-16s continue to hold a special place in the U.S. - Pakistanistani security relationship. The four EDA aircraft are part of a larger package of 14 aircraft. With the most recent delivery, the USAF has transferred eight aircraft to Pakistan. Another four EDA F-16 aircraft are scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on 28 July 2008. The final two aircraft are part of the Pakistan Mid-Life Update program and will arrive in Pakistan in December 2011. The entire F-16 program for Pakistan includes the purchase of eighteen F-16C/D Block 52 aircraft, MLU for 46 aircraft, and a munitions package that includes AMRAAM, JDAM, and Enhanced Paveway guidance kits.

As with any EDA program of this complexity, employees at DSCA contributed directly to the success of this program. DSCA country program personnel developed Pakistanistan’s request when the Pakistan Air Force first broached the topic. Other personnel worked through the Congressional notification process by explaining the effort to the Oversight Committees on the Hill. All invested the time and energy necessary to allow this program to succeed.

The senior U.S. representative at the ceremony was Mr. Peter Bodde, who is the Deputy Chief of Mission at the American Embassy in Islamabad. Air Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, the Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Operations), represented the Pakistan Air Force. Bodde acknowledged the hard work of the USAF that allowed the delivery to succeed and both he and Air Marshall Rao Qamar commented on the significance of this delivery to the ongoing security relationship between the United States and Pakistan. DSCA's Country Program Director for Pakistan attended the delivery ceremony.

From the video the only serial info is 92619 as previously verifed from the photo and the mention of 92623 in the presentations sequence.

I still have a hard time wondering why they want so many two seaters? They must be doing all there own pilot training. But even so, as small as their Air Force is they have quite a few. It only takes a few hop's in a two seater and then you move on. Those are a burden to mainteance and costly to keep up. Just my Two Cents

That's simply because all of the originally build Peace Gate III and IV aircraft will be delivered now. And they consist of 15 B-models and 13 A-models. So already 12 B's and 2 A's delivered so far.

Actually, 12 have been delivered so far. Two F-16As in December 2005, two F-16Bs in July 2007, four F-16Bs in June 2008, and four F-16Bs in July 2008. I suspect the balancing F-16A and F-16B remain in the States as MLU LTF aircraft and will be delivered at a later date. December 2011 is mentioned in a press release. BTW, funny to see how facts and numbers differ in the various press releases over past months. The remaining F-16A is presumably 92-0407 (DG-10). Candidates for the F-16B staying behind and the two remaining unidentified F-16Bs delivered earlier this week, are 92-0452 (DH-6), 92-0454 (DH-8), and 92-0456 (DH-10), all former 445FLTS/412TW aircraft.

Well, I guess they aren't as sharp as they should be. Check the ratio of A's to B's in a normal Squadron.

I know what it is.........do they have a training deal with the USAF? If so something was wrong.......!!!!

Found these photo which seems to have been released at a later date. Shows that 92618, 92619, 92620 & 92623 were delivered in the July 28th batch.

Someone on forum has pointed out that almost all of the delivered vipers are station wagons. The ones left behind (in USN's use) also constitute some Bravo models. In addition, 1/3 of their new birds are also dual seaters. Can these (bravo and deltas) be utilized specifically in strike roles using hunter-killer concept. Are there any modifications available for such roles for this bird. Can MLU'd vipers be used for such roles. I am pondering why Israel ordered only delta models in Peace Marble V. Are they using them or intend to use these squadrons only for strike roles.

Can anyone inform about the airframe use of the delivered birds. How old are they and how many hours flown? Do they have GE or P&W power plants.

But on a general note, the only difference between a dual- and single seater is the amount of fuel carried internally. B'sides the obvious number of seats, offcourse Wink

Both are fully capable of all types of combat.

As for the Israeli and Singaporian dual seaters from the latest batches, these are specialized strike Vipers but the details on the electronics suite is confidential

The serials database is one of the most updated parts of this website. Unfortunately enough, Pakistan (among a couple of others) is a country which practically makes it impossible to get information from.

We do our very best, but if we don't receive any info, we can't give it.
