I have searched over the internet for awhile now and there doesn't seem to be a recent, graphics intensive F-22 simulator. I have Jane's F/A-18 and I was looking for something similar/better. However even though that game came out in '99, there seems to be nothing more recent for the F-22.

Any replies would be great; apparently Alphasim won't update their F-22 for FSX, as the modeller who made it left Sad

The last F-22 games were "F-22 Raptor" by novalogic in 2000 and iF22 from the same year. (iF22 being most realistic).

There's also Total Air War by DiD which seems to be making some sort of resurgence. It has a pretty active forum over at SimHQ.com.

You could try energy airforce: aim strike! It's for the playstation but is none the less one of the best sims out there, and hard to boot!

I'm sorry, but there are no flight simulators for console gaming systems. Get serious.

TAW was THE F-22 simulator. Even though all other aircraft were spiced up with science fiction capabilities to prevent the SIM from providing turkey shoots all the time.

It needs someone with money to develop them unfortunately and the returns on realistic combat sims are not what they were in the 90's when there were tons of em. Its only small teams of people willing to learn the skills who seem to be doing this at the moment - Just check out the upcoming "Jet Thunder" Falklands/Malvinas sim!.

If you have Falcon 4 AF - then there is a way to fly the F-22 in it if you are that desperate - though is a bit of cheat flying something no one else can see on radar till about 6 miles out and you may get bored.

If you go for graphics and are not bothered about realism in anyway then theres always consoles Smile

Tell me raptor_one why aren't there flight simulaotrs for consoles? Just cause you dont have total control over your flaps like you would on a pc doesn mean anything. I've played most flight sim games out there and this is on of my favouites, physics are very realistic. I'd go so far as to say it's better than microsoft flight simulator in terms of realism!

It's just I want something a little more complicated than a console game. They're cooler in many ways than the realistic pc games, but I want to be a pilot so I'd want something that teaches at least the bare-bones basics of dogfighting and such. I bought FSX and what I like the most isn't the realism or the graphics; it's the lessons section. I love FSX just because of that, and I'd love to find a military flight sim with that kind of thing.

How much are you willing to bet raptor?im actually an aircraft engineer, almost anyway! i've spent the last 5 years training for it, two in regional college getting my basic degree and 3 in a proper college getting my licences! where as i'm willing to bet that u sell burgers and sit at home dreaming about doing something with ur life!

I'm sure you are probably going to become a very good engineer - however does that degree include flying real Jets in combat situations?

Although I'm not a practicing aerospace engineer at the moment (unfortunately), I do have a B.S. degree in aerospace engineering. I'm not exactly familiar with the term aircraft engineer. Do you mean aeronautical engineer? I'm also not familiar with the course of study you speak of. Do you have (or are you close to getting) a B.S., M.S., Ph.D., etc. in something along the lines of aerospace engineering? If not, then I'm not exactly sure what your expertise is. Regardless, if you think a console game is a realistic combat flight simulator, you have not played a realistic combat flight simulator. Try something like Falcon 4.0 and then get back to us.

Contrary to popular belief, you don't necessarily need to fly jets to determine the relative accuracy of a combat flight simulator in areas such as flight modeling.
