Limited operations of the range will resume in October.
Governor Jon Corzine will allow the 177th Air Fighter Wing to resume training missions there October 1st.
For the first month, the 177th Fighter Wing will be the only user for it. Other units will be cleared in November, if all goes well.
Independent inspections have also been ordered to ensure adherence to those new safety procedures, although some public officials in the area remain unconvinced that the range is safe to reopen. |
