To be blunt, I always enjoyed the Cold War science phantasy concept of a squadron of Harrier STOVLs operating inside a western European city, after enemy SSMs disabled their air base runways. 8D
I was disappointed when the ASTOVL programmes, whether P.1154 or Yak-141, were aborted. |

A filming crew from National Geographic Channel (NGC) was given unprecedented access to Taiwan's air bases during the Hankuang 27 road runway exercise in April.
The 45-minute documentary will be shown on Oct. 9. |
