Türkiye'nin alacağı 30 adet F-16 2011'de teslim edilecek.

Hava Kuvvetleri Komutanlığı'nın ihtiyacı olan 30 adet F-16 için 1 milyar 650 milyon dolarlık kontrat yarın imzalanıyor. Anlaşma kapsamında F-16'ların üretimi Türkiye'de gerçekleştirilecek

10/05/2007

All,

Are we certain that 'ALL' future F-16s will be built in Turkey or is it just the 30 jets being acquired by the Turkish Air Force?

Regards and thanks

Mark (who doesn't speak or read Turkish!)

Announced by the Turkish Government just a minute ago.

Attached are the details of the deal in English.

Quote:
TAI and TEI, enjoying the F-16-related infrastructure they gained via the previous Peace Onyx Programs while producing and delivering a total of 278 aircraft, will refresh their capability to create an added-value to this new program. And ultimately, there may be some further opportunities for these two companies, to be involved in the potential F-16 sales that may occur in the future.

Thanks NATOVIPER. I think that clears it up for all of us in that co-operation between LMTAS and TAI may take place in the future but not that all future F-16 production will take place in Turkey.

Regards

Mark

Hi,
Is anybody have any info about :
1-)if the "Over Cyprus Fly Ban" continue for these Block 50+'s? It is known that aggrement delayed due to this issue.
2-)Also any clue about that same ban applies for new Sidewinder AIM9X aggrement?
3-)Mission computer modifications will be allowed or not for these 50+s? we know not allowed for any previous eagles..

regards,
Farrior

In his speech, Minister of Defence, Mr Gonul, says about the software maintenance capability "finally an agreement was reached".
So, I suppose, we have taken some steps on this...
I just wonder at which level???

The exact quote is
Quote:

Another hot topic of the negotiations was the software maintenance capability. That issue was also discussed with the US DoD officials and Lockheed Martin representatives, and finally an agreement was reached, setting forth a technical study to determine how to meet the requirements of the Turkish Air Force.

So, it was stated that a technical study agreement was reached...There are some new local weapon system projects taking place in Turkey..One of the is desining and producing a 3rd gen targeting pod..Called AselPod will be tested and certifed on F-4E/2000 and F-16 block-40 first...Later, the same pod will be integrated and certified with new Block-50+...Usually, integration and certification requires changes in the OFP software, hence, TuAF wants this capability...Similarly, national stand-off PGM development is in the testing stages on F-4E/Terminators...TuAF also want to integrate and certify this PGM on new Block-50+s....Probably, this technical study group or committee will work on the issues in next couple of years...
