What is the actual load capability on the two stations and what can be carried? All I ever see is Sidewinder type missiles. Are there other options?

A quick look in the photo section will show AIM-120 Amraam, Phyton 4 and 5, and a lot of other stores on 2 and 8.
The one on the third picture even seems to be sporting a cargo pod on station 2.

Thanks guy@rdaf.dk Smile

And if we are already at it, one could fit a Derby on 2 & 8 as well.

IDFAF F-16D Block 30 #083 from the "Valley Squadron" showing-off 4 Israeli-made Derby missiles. Note missing number and sqn. insigina on the fin.

Does this count?

http://www.f-16.net/gallery_item204481.html

I know that its on station 3, but I could not find any pics of it on station 2 or 8. I've seen crewchief bags, harnesses and helmets hung there, but I dont have any pics to prove it.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Some Israeli company developed a new type of pylon for stations 2 and 8, which allow to load bombs of up to 500 lb ... dont know if the pylons are used operationally somewhere though.

About 25 years ago, Israel asked GD to provide clearance to carry a Mk-82 at 2/8. I remember working the structural load clearance for that, but don't know if flutter, flying qualities, store seperation, or stores management completed their tasks. I looked all through the IAF photos in the gallery and did not see any similar loadings.
