I am looking for some good sources for F-16 Formations. I am specifically loocing for the correct Wedge, Arrowhead, and Trail formations. I put a document togehter as a cheat sheet. I am sure it needs some revising, so help me out.
Thanks in advance,

| What you're looking for is the 3-3 volume 5. It is unclass and I'd bet you could find it some where on the internet. If you can't find it let me know and I'll just post the info. We don't fly an arrowhead formation though. |

I might be mistaken, but, I think that one is called the "Stinger", not the "Arrowhead"

| T-Birds call it an arrow head when they throw it out, but then what do they know? |

Sure, the picture show a formation used from an acrobatic team.
I think that the question of Vulture is for tactical formation mentionated in MCH Vol.5. Do you confirm?

Sorry, but, my time on the team instilled a certain "attention to detail", others will say that I'm just anal....probably a little of both.
This is what the Thunderbirds call the arrowhead formation: |

Ahhh...you're absolutely right. Other maneuvers that can also be found in 3-3v5 are the crossover break from route, the close formation with one jet inverted and the starburst break with the crossing rejoin. But what would I know, I'm just a tactical fighter pilot. |

Magnum, I always skip Chapter 6.9, "Loops to Music" in 3-3 myself--understandable oversight... |

| Is it true that you normally fly trail formation in heavy traffic or civil airspace to move from and out a fire polygon ? |
