Working in the Joint Movement Center at EUCOM Headquarters (Stuttgart), patiently waiting for the Turks to approve our half of the operation. We had the 4th ID as well as a gazillion other pieces waiting for the go call.never happened of course as the Turks backed out, so we sat that one out.

That's the reason Aviano never got the call. The Turks wouldn't allow us in the country if we were to participate in the strike.

Sitting at the Fire Station, watching Fox....getting irritated at the morons calling 911 for knee pain and tummy aches....

"don't you know we're having a bit of a war here ma'am?"

"huh?"

....sigh.

Just over a year later I set foot at Balad.....no CLUE watching it on Fox that I'd ever get to go there.

I was in tech school watching it happen on FOX. We kept getting told that we (the class I was in) would all go there eventually. Four years later still not one of us has gone Sad
