We had a whole buncha new Viper stuff to do when I got word of the new Tamiya kit about 8 months ago. We went ahead and pushed Viper East thru since it was done, but put the brakes on the rest until we got a look at the kit to see what we'd have to alter to make it go.

The upside was it forced some dedicated work on navy subjects, which is a good thing, but the downside is we had a bunch of stuff jammed up in the F-16 world and forced a whole bunch of regrouping due to Tamiya's release schedule.

So, the SHs are headed in here in a bit, and when those get released the first 2 new vipers go in, followed closely by the next 2, and that way thru the next year at least. The first releases will be block 50 heavy. There are a few scattered block 40s just due to grouping issues, but there are enough aftermarket things right now to make that an easy conversion, but we're gonna hold the dedicated block 40 units to see what Tamiya does, so the block 50 squadrons will come first....standard format....current CO, line jets and some older subjects.....example is the 22nd FS. 3 current jets, 3 Allied Force era jets, 2 different CO jets and a D model. I'm PRAYING Tamiya does a D model 'cause there's one on every sheet from here on out. If not, the markings can be used on the Hasegawa and there are enough dedicated Hasegawa stencils sets out there.
The 79th has been done to death, so I think we're gonne skip it, but the rest of the block 50 units are coming, 22nd first, followed by the 522nd, 13th, 14th, 77th and 23rd pretty quickly. By then hopefully the Tamiya releases will be clear, and if they aren't then we'll alter some things in the instructions and head off into block 40-42/30-32 territory.

The 4 things headed in asap are:

PACAF Wing Kings
8th, 35th and 354th FW CC jets. The 35th covers 3 wing kings and 2 tail #s, 8th and 354th are current

Air Force CC jets
5th/Misawa, 9th/Shaw and 12th/Hill Air Force flagships, all current

Spangdahlem Wing Kings
I had so much on 91-0352 that I couldn't fit it on a sheet with another jet, so it gets it's own sheet. Markings from Allied Force, 2001, 2003, last year and current. 2 crew chiefs that I have gotten to know well doing other sheets both owned this jet at different times.

22nd FS
The first of the dedicated squadron sheets. Current/'06 and '05 CO, line jets incl. a D, and the COs jet from Allied Force thru 2001 and some older line jets. CCIP and non-CCIP jets.

This is the jets from the AF commander's sheet.....I LOVE this sheet personally and I'm stoked about it. I think these are the 3 best looking F-16s in the whole fleet.

I'll post some of the profiles Shawn's done already later today. BTW, if you are a crew chief or pilot, very few of the jets on the sheets this year are set in stone, so if you'd like your jet featured on a release of our's send me a note and I'll bug you about details Very Happy

I always like to feature the jets of people from this site or who are otherwise interested in it rather than just random jets.

Hey, those decals look cool! Like the PACAF and Spang jets. The 22FS looks good too. Are these specifically for that new Tamiya Viper?

Yep....there is a distinct difference between certain parts of the kits, and we have to pick 1 to size things against and are going with Tamiya.
