I was looking at the LM photos and was wondering what this thing is on the bottom of the airplane?

Anybody know?

either that, or it could be just an aft facing camera, they mount them on the test birds so that they can video the different tests....lots of ORANGE wires on the test birds....

Nahhhhh.....it's the 3-D holographic image generator! Makes one F-35 look like a whole fleet so as to confuse the enemy's targeteers! Wink Smile

It's the pad you use to mount it on the pillar when it becomes a gate guard.....

Look at the post for the laser gun installed on the F-35; that is almost exactly where the laser beam is coming from in the picture.... Smile
