Hello Viper Community

At F-16.net we would like to hear from any ground crew or pilot with combat experience of any nation for the purpose of writing a combat history of the F-16 for this web page. We would like to get personal accounts instead of just listing data.

Here is an idea of what we are looking for:

Interesting stories (of course), serial numbers, number of missions the aircraft flew (or pilot flew) and personal accounts of what it was like overall etc. We are not looking for sensitive information that could compromise the future mission of the F-16.

If you need official clearance to give the interview, let us know and we will attempt to get that clearance.

Please contact me at my personal email address:

lockheed_f16viper (at symbol) hotmail.com

Many Thanks,

I got a buddy named Grab who was in OIF, but now in the TBirds, but he's probably busy, would be cool if he could help you out though.

It's not smart to talk about war stories if you're still in the USAF... Specifically ones that are recent.

Here are some pretty neat stories from our unit that made it into Code One Magazine....They are a littel more personal than just a listing of facts Very Happy

Jon,

The best I can do for you is to reference a book titled "Operation Iraqi Freedom". Author's name is Walter J. Boyne (Ret. Air Force). The information in this book is quite amazing to include on how quickly it was published.

I cannot talk about my experiences per se except for what was publicly stated. Our unit was responsible for SCUD hunting and the area to which I was deployed is still classified (410AEW, 120EFS).

The book however, and I wonder how the author got all his information, identifies units deployed (to include location) in support of OIF and what some of their areas of responsibility were. What went right and what went wrong.

Best I can do....

Hi all

I am mostly looking for people from Desert Storm at this time. Have good contacts from 50th TFW, 401st TFW, 363rd TFW. Now need contacts from 388th TFW and the two guard units that were involved in Desert Storm. Remember, looking for good personal accounts. Any contacts please email me at:

Cheers,
Jon
