No big deal - you will find most of it here;
http://home.att.net/~jbaugher/2002.html

For other years, just change 2002 into whatever year you'd like, and you'll get more information that you probably need Cheers

Thank you very much for sharing this Japanese source, turugi-geki! And welcome to our forums!

Sorry, Boman! But in case of the Raptor, Joe Baugherīs well-known website provides mainly bare USAF serial numbers and nearly zero info related to unit assignments, movements to other units, roll-outs, first flights and deliveries. And from this viewpoint, the Japanese source is simply great.

But the very best public online source for Raptor identification - at least in my eyes - is the searchable database of Scramble (provided by the Dutch Aviation Society): www.scramble.nl

What a coincidence! Just some days ago, I started an update of my own Raptor aircraft listings to support a planned F-22 Aircraft Database on F-16.net and also to prepare a second extensive Raptor news article for the German "FLiEGERREVUE extra", a quarterly sub-publication of the monthly "FLiEGERREVUE" air and space magazine.

After checking Scrambleīs latest online entries and contacting some of our Langley guys, I will post a first preview to this forum (probably next week). For some remaining questions and a current F-22 press kit I will also contact Lockheed Martinīs Joe Quimby.

No sweat, J.J. Very Happy

My reply was more intended on the "moron who let that info leak" Point is that there is no leak, the info is there for those who want it, you just need to open your eyes and observe. No offence intended towards TC mind you Cheers

Can anyone explain what the 4 digit numbers on the second column on the Japanese link is?

Also how are the serial numbers given?

What do the numbers represent?

The 4 digit numbers in column 2 are the serial. For those who can translate the final column thats the supplemental info. The owner of this website has been looking over at lot of websites to extrapolate this info Very Happy

The four-digit numbers in column two are Lockheed Martinīs F-22 construction numbers, beginning with 3999 and 4000 (used only for static tests), and followed by Raptor 4001 as the first flyable test aircraft. For their military serial numbers, USAF just adopted the construction numbers and combined these with the last two digits of the related fiscal years as prefix, beginning with 91-4001 for Raptor 4001. The numbers in column one of the Japanese source are the shortened serials, painted on the tails (but in reality without the hyphens), beginning with AF99 001.

thanks for that info
i was looking at 4025, and its USAF number is AF04025
so that means it was built in fiscal year 04 right?
while 24 and 26 in 2001 and 2002 respectively
anyone know why?

Thank you for your update, turugi-geki! I made a re-post to the topic "F-22 begins deployment to Japan".

The 04 on the tail references the year of the contract with which the item was procured. The year being FY vs CY.

Long before this topic was started we at F-16.net began work on an F-22 serial database. We are happy to announce it is now available. It functions much like the F-16 database so you will be familiar on how it works.

Feel free to check it out at:

<a href="http://www.f-16.net/serials.html">F-22 Aircraft Database</a>

The link can also be found in the column to the left under 5th Gen Fighters/F-22.

Enjoy and help us keep it up to date,
