Looks like the feelings are mutual on interservice exchange.

Cut from another site

"The Growler may not be the only platform replacing the Prowler in the near future. The Marine Corps has shown interest in an EW variant of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF). To be based on the Air Force's conventional short wing JSF design, the EW variant would carry the majority of the SEAD avionics and EW systems contained in a bay behind the cockpit, relying on advanced computers to ease the pilot's workload. Marine officials are hopeful that they will see the JSF in Marine colors sometime around 2010."

Also USAF is looking at X-45 UCAV some years down the road and as mentioned already the EB-52 idea is being rumor entertained. ( I believe there is an old Maxwell Air War College paper on that topic ( EB-52 ) floating around somewhere:D )

EB-52 huh? Reminds me of the series of lite novels by Dale Brown ("Flight Of The Old Dog", "Hammerheads") that featured a souped-up Buff with all kinds of gee whiz bang stuff on it, like an SST-type nose, AMRAAM capability, stealth, etc. He also called his battlewagon the EB-52. Old Buff crew dogs can dream, I guess.

The idea of making an EB-52 was real, anyway it's unlikely to make an EF-35, it's too small for the electronic countermeasures equipment, but that's only me!
