I recently read the F-22A's main weakness is its inability or difficulty to broadcast data to other platforms (outside of other F-22As).

The F-35 will be sporting much more robust networking systems, and the technology will be available soon enough.

So will the F-22A get a massive communications upgrade?

I believe the block 20 jets will get Link 16 transmit although I'm not sure if they've solved to LPI aspect of it just yet. I don't know when the block 20s will start to hit the flight line.
