Let me introduce myself here at the forum (have been lurking for some days now...):
I'm in the process of building an F-16 Simulator (just as a hobby), and the info available here is a _huge_ source for me.
I guess, I will have some questions in the future (since I'm planning to write a software modelling the f-16 avionics/engine/..., as real as I manage to get it) - maybe some of you guys and girls(?) could help me out a bit?
2 pics of my project in it's actual state:
greetings

| That is one extensive project. Must be nice to have the room for all that. You gonna also make the cockpit coaming and stuff? |

thx Habu!
The pit itself is only 2m x 1.3m big, so it will find it's place in my flat w/o probs..
English is not my mother tongue - what exactly is coaming?

I think he means the black cover forward of the instruments, under the HUD.
Some of my past cockpit projects are here: http://www.habu2.net/sims/simulate.htm |

| By cockpit coaming I mean the area just of the sides, where the canopy would come down and close on top of. |

you (habu2) mean the small glareshield? it's already done, just not visible at the picture... hopefully I'll get new pics this weekend.

Hey, don't tell me *g*. That's one of the first sites I found while doing research for my pit years ago - let me say "THX ALOT" in this way!!

Yes, I'm planning to do a canopy, too, but replica of the real one is actually much too complicated for me (no way to work with plexyglass). So I'll go the "old fashioned" route, with a windshield from the front to the center console (just about where the HUD is located) and a canopy that moves for the rest - this is actually in planning phase, and it will take some time until I start with it.
