For those of you (if any and I know there are a few still around)...I thought this might spark a memory or two of days gone pass with an older fighter that also kicked butt in its day.

Photo are from Danang, Vietnam..1971 and 1972, back when I was just a 19 year old kid learning aircraft systems (crew doggen) and how to be lucky enough to dodge rockets and snipers

You guys heard about "Puff" didn't ya.....here is a few photos of it

Then the Wild Boars (F4's)

Excellent pics of "Rocket City" Meathook! Quonset Huts and Hooches...man, that's old school! Puff the Magic Dragon looked mean, just sitting there! Did you get a ride with them?

Great stuff! Cool

Not in the C-47 (Puff, wish I had) but yes to the Jolly Green and UH1B/C's manning the M-60 or Mini Gun (depending what the aircraft had on board).

Sometimes as I look back and see me, it is hard to understand how it all took place and so long ago, to still be here and see it happening all over again in other parts of the world knowing my children are now involved...I sometimes feel it was for nothing but I really know better.

Thanks

Very interesting pictures! Keep'em coming!

On the Puff (AC-47) how many miniguns were? Those 3 on port side, and nothing on the other side?

The ones I saw did but I had heard some were configured differently, it was a flying gun basically...I never got to ride in one, I bet it was noisy too
