Here is where I am at. I want to become an fighter pilot. I only have a year left of college. I have carried a [Link pending approval] GPA in a technical degree field. I have a [Link pending approval], and I meet every other requirements to be a figthter pilot.
What are my chances of getting a pilot slot, or am I sol because of my [Link pending approval], and because I did not go to the Air Force Academy. |

Well, take that GED and your 4.0 and do a little search on this site... I'm pretty sure your question is addressed somewhere...
Lieven, can we make a "sticky" somewhere on the site to keep all these questions/answers together? At least that way, I don't have to sound drunk and sarcastic all the time... (well at least not sarcastic.)

Well, we have created the Future F-16 crew forum to keep these kind of topics together. As you suggest, we can add a sticky to it but I'm not sure what to put in there. Perhaps something like this? |

| It sounds like you're not in ROTC in college if you only have a year left... So you'd probably be looking at OTS or else extending to do graduate work (and then doing ROTC). If you want to know what GPA, AFOQT scores, and private flying time makes you competitive you might want to check out the "Pilot Slot Statistics" page from www.WantsCheck.com - it's a pretty good (although new) resource. Good luck! |

| from what it seems, a GED wont get you in the military, enlisted or as an officer, but maybe they can waiver that. As it is right now, the USAF is over manned by 20k people, so getting in is even harder thing to do. |
