Hey gents
I've noticed a lot of threads relating to Falcon 4.0 and other flight sims being posted in the "General" and/or "Armament" catagory (and maybe others). Any chance of adding yet another catagory for the gamers on the board to keep the "real-world" and "gaming" threads seperate? You can decide where and how to add it. I hate to clutter up the board but more than once I've had to re-read an entire multi-page thread to tell if the discussion was real-world or game-based.
Thanks and keep up the A-1 work! |

The matter is the Falcon 4 discussions usually begin with someone wanting to know if the sim is right about some things. Which means that, in those threads, we usually do not speak much about the sim, it is only a starting point.
Moreover, I think there are already a lot of good forums to talk about Falcon4 on the web. I am not sure that adding a Falcon4 category would be relevant. |

LinkF-16SimDude, thank you for the suggestion, Wildcat thank you as well for the feedback...
Anyone else?
In the meanwhile we'll give it some thought. |

| Falcon 4.0 seems fragmented all over the web to me. I've downloaded SP4 but I don't have time to sift thru all the pro/con F4 websites - life is too short. I would think anyone posting here *and* having flown F4 would have a balanced viewpoint. The F4 community has been an emotional/egotistical one ever since the source code was leaked over four years ago. |

Well, to say the truth, I would really like to find a F4 category here, because I play Falcon4 SP3 a lot (I have not been able to download SP4 so far (56K only ), because it would be practical, and because I am sure that many people posting here play Falcon4 too.
I just wonder if it would not fragment the forum too much, and if it would not change a little bit the tone and the primary goals of the forum. |

Well, I dunno, I mean, have a look at the F4 forum I frequent. We have one forum kept seperate for problems with the game and/or hardware and another one for the game itself. And that's just the main stuff. We've also got a sticky thread where people posts screenies, a sticky thread with an FAQ for noobies on the infamous "Falcon dance"... and chances are, there's gonna be even more stuff being put up soon, there's gonna be a lot more stuff coming in. Not to mention the huge amount of posts that a Falcon forum generates, which would clutter up traffic and all that.
Besides, I think you guys have more than enough on your hands keeping track of everything. Besides, as has already been mentioned, most of the Falcon-related stuff is about realism and how close the details are to RL. So really, it would be interesting to have it, but I'm edging on the "no" side of "undecided". If nothing else, it would be easier to hear the real pilots' opinions on things. |

Falcon 4 HeadQuarters.
There are two ways to get there. One is via www.f4hq.com and the other one is via www.simmersworld.com
They'll both take you to the same home page and from there you can just select 'Forum'. |

Don't mention it. Lem'me know if you decide to join us.
BTW, I go by Firebird on that forum... don't even ask about it... the logic will prove questionable... |

I think this could be opened under Miscellaneous section rather then sending "simulation" related posts to "off-topic" which are not really off-topic, they are all F-16 related. Simulations forums have a great audience concerning the F-16 sims out there, and bringing that audience here for their dedicated forum section would also result in them using F-16.net material, reading other forums, contributing in art sections, video sections, etc.
It could be named "Simulations" under Miscellaneous simply... I can vouch to advertise this section on many sim forums personally.
Just a thought for you guys, what do you think? |

| Can we discuss (non-PC) F-16 sims there too? Like UTD and WST experiences/issues/etc. .... |

| Now THAT would be much better, a joint SIM place would contribute info exchange for PC sim developers too... |

So would we need two sim forums, one PC-based, one non-PC based? Or maybe one "game sims" and one "sims"?
thanks for the suggestion BTW!
